Imatest ColorGray 44 Color and Grayscale Test Target (Transmissive)

Overview

Released in September 2025, the ColorGray 44 Color and Grayscale Test Target is a high-precision test chart designed for evaluating the color accuracy, grayscale response, and resolution performance of camera imaging systems.

Manufactured on transmissive LVT photographic film, this chart offers excellent optical linearity, density stability, and reproducibility, making it ideal for use in medical endoscopy, industrial inspection, automotive imaging, and research-grade imaging systems.

Key Features

· Comprehensive 44-patch layout：Includes 6 saturated RGBCMY color patches, 18 ColorChecker-like color patches, and 20 grayscale steps for tonal and color response analysis.

· Resolution evaluation zone：Integrated logarithmic wedges and slanted-edge regions for SFR (Spatial Frequency Response) and limiting resolution measurements.

· High-precision transmissive construction：Single-layer LVT color film ensures consistent optical density, sharp imaging, and supports repeatable quantitative measurements.

· Optical density range：
Transmissive version: Dmax–Dmin = 3.0 (Step 0.15 for D ≤ 2.4, step 0.20 for D > 2.4)
Reflective version: Customizable (Dmax–Dmin = 1.9)

· Calibrated reference data (.CSV)：Supplied with certified color and grayscale reference values for precise quantitative analysis and calibration.

· Center-optimized layout：The central area is free of critical features to prevent interference from hot spots caused by self-illuminated or end-face lighting systems (e.g., endoscopes).

· Optional pre-distorted version：Available with geometric pre-compensation for fisheye and wide-angle lens testing.
