Q14 Grayscale Test Chart
The Q14 Grayscale Test Chart is a professional reflective image quality test chart designed around 18% neutral gray as a key exposure reference. It is widely used in imaging laboratories, cameras, and imaging devices for exposure evaluation, dynamic range assessment, and grayscale linearity calibration.
The chart consists of 20 continuous grayscale steps ranging from white to black, with a uniform density progression for evaluating tonal reproduction across different luminance levels. It provides a consistent reference for analyzing image quality and supports imaging system development, production calibration, and quality control testing.
Key Features
· 18% neutral gray (reflection density 0.7) serves as the reference for exposure evaluation, providing a standardized tonal reference for image testing.
· 20 continuous grayscale steps with a density range of 0.05–1.95 and a dynamic range of <40 dB.
· Each grayscale step has a density increment of 0.10, providing a uniform density progression for quantitative analysis of contrast reproduction and noise performance.
· Key reference steps are clearly identified: A (pure white tone, density 0.05), M (18% neutral gray, density 0.7), and B (dark gray tone, density 1.65).
