The Gold-Coated Integrating Sphere series typically features an aluminum or copper substrate for excellent thermal conductivity, with its inner wall precision-coated with a thin layer of gold — the key feature of this product line.
In the Near-Infrared (NIR) and Mid-Infrared (MIR) spectral regions, the gold layer provides exceptionally high reflectance, up to 95% or higher. This outstanding reflectivity ensures highly efficient light reflection within the sphere, minimizing absorption and loss to create a stable and uniform infrared light field.
Compared with PTFE coatings, the gold layer offers superior thermal resistance and a much higher damage threshold, supporting up to 5 kW (CW) total power and 5 kW/cm² power density — ideal for high-power IR measurement and calibration applications.

· Infrared Source Measurement & Calibration
The integrating sphere accurately measures key parameters such as luminous flux, radiant power, and spectral distribution of various infrared sources — including IR lasers and LEDs — providing reliable data for product quality control and performance optimization.
· Infrared Spectroscopy
In IR spectroscopy, the gold-coated integrating sphere can be coupled with spectrometers or detectors to analyze sample absorption, reflection, or transmission spectra in the IR range.
The uniform IR background illumination ensures consistent lighting conditions, improving measurement accuracy and repeatability — particularly valuable for complex samples or weak infrared signals.

· Infrared Optical Component Testing
The gold-coated integrating sphere is ideal for evaluating infrared optical components such as lenses, mirrors, and filters.
By placing components inside or along the sphere’s optical path, it enables accurate measurement of transmittance and reflectance while eliminating environmental interference — ensuring precise and repeatable results for optical quality assessment.
