ColorSpace has launched a new CS-LE-VIA01 light source for image sensor testing, which is an upgraded version of the LE005 series transmissive light box, featuring an electric adjustable light-emitting area. This light source is not only capable of performing routine uniformity tests (such as shading tests) to accurately present the uniformity of images, but also achieves arbitrary adjustment of the light-emitting area within a range of 0 to 200mm by 300mm through its unique electric mechanism design. During the image testing and debugging process, the CS-LE-VIA01 can effectively assist in in-depth analysis of automatic exposure (AE) settings, such as dynamic range compression (DRC①). It provides flexible response and reliable data support, whether studying the impact of different light-emitting area sizes on parameters or conducting comparative analysis without changing the shooting scene.

Note:
① DRC:Dynamic Range Compression,DRC ) is an image processing technique used to adjust the dynamic range of an image, that is, the contrast between the brightest and darkest parts. This technology is particularly suitable for high dynamic range scenes where the brightness difference exceeds the processing capability of the camera sensor or system. The purpose of DRC is to expand the acceptable brightness levels in the image so that details that may have been too dark or too bright become visible. For example, when shooting in a bright outdoor scene, DRC can help retain details in the sky without making the shadow areas too dark. In practical applications, the DRC algorithm may automatically adjust according to different scenes, or allow users to manually set the compression level as needed. This helps with the overall visual effect of the image, especially when shooting under extreme lighting conditions.
